The Dockside Delivery Story
We started working on this business as we became boaters ourselves and realized that we had an opportunity to help solve a major issue for others in the boating community by being your resource for all of your grocery, catering and liquor needs for your boating season.
Selling whiskey is a family tradition.
There's something special about owning and running a business like Windy City Ribs & Whiskey. I say that because selling whiskey runs in the family and it started with my great-grandfather back in 1865.
Born a slave in Lexington, MS my great-grandfather became a well-known and thriving business owner back in 1865 when slavery was abolished. As a landowner he created wealth for his family by taking his 40 acres and a mule and turning it into 3600 acres of land. He created wealth through land ownership but also was well known for selling whiskey.
Fast forward 3 generations & I'm a business owner with a similar vision.
Windy City Ribs & Whiskey is not only known for serving up great whiskey and amazing ribs, but for the experience we create that feels like you're coming home. You know you're in the right place when you walk through our doors and you're greeted like you're family.
Just like my grandfather worked hard to change his path and seize opportunities to grow his business and wealth for his family, my mission is to grow this Chicago restaurant into a national brand while also growing generational wealth for my community.

Hi, I'm Terri Evans, the owner of Windy City Ribs & Whiskey. I'm proud to be a business owner, and even prouder that I get to follow in my great-grandfather's footsteps selling whiskey. What I'm most proud of is our ability to show up and help our underserved black and brown communities.
We commit to volunteering, donating money, and specifically in Chicago develop partnerships with Urban Gardening Programs and High Roads Kitchen to solve food insecurities in our community.
